THE EARLY YEARS: HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
As the last line of defense on the ice and a trusted mentor and coach off the ice, Evan stands tall as a true powerhouse in the world of professional hockey. He comes from humble beginnings growing up and playing youth hockey in Colorado before finding his way to the NAHL’s Wichita Falls Wildcats. Once that season began in 2012, hockey shifted from a fun passion to a potential career path as he earned a handful of call-ups to the USA National U18 Team, a scholarship to play at the University of Denver, and an eventual 4th Round selection in the 2013 NHL Draft by the Florida Panthers.
Evan spent the next four years getting his degree in Economics and playing for the best team in college hockey, although it was not an easy ride. He often found himself grappling with his role and his identity on and off the ice, trying to contribute to the success of the team - even in periods of time when he was backing up. However, the effort paid off as he and his teammates finished off his senior season with the 2017 NCAA D1 National Championship.
MIDWAY:
PURSUING DREAMS & ACHIEVING MILESTONES
After graduating from DU, Evan signed with the Springfield Thunderbirds, the Florida Panthers' AHL affiliate. The first professional season in North America was successful, however, the following year the best opportunity that presented itself was overseas, prompting Evan to continue his career in Europe. It was in the Polish city of Gdansk that Evan embarked on a fresh start in the Polska Hokej Liga, seeking self-discovery both as a goaltender and as an individual. Despite the challenge of playing on a team without any native English speakers, he thrived in the league, ultimately earning a promotion to the Odense Bulldogs in the esteemed Danish "Metal Ligaen" for the following year.

During his time in Denmark, Evan remained committed to honing his mental and physical skills, maintaining a healthy mindset and unwavering focus through a demanding schedule of games. Evan and his fiancée Anna then ventured to HK Nitra in the Slovakian Extraliga, where he experienced the high-level competition that demanded a consistent, top-notch performance in every practice and game. This successful stint paved the way for Evan to find his current home with Les Ducs D’Angers in Angers, France, where he has thrived for the past two years.
PRESENT DAY:
THRIVING IN THE WORLD OF PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY
Currently a key player for Les Ducs D'Angers, Evan has discovered a perfect fit for himself and his partner Anna. Angers, a captivating city teeming with vitality, exceptional cuisine, and remarkable wines, provides the ideal backdrop for his games. The team's unwavering ambition to be the best in France, coupled with a state-of-the-art rink and training facility that creates an electrifying atmosphere at every home game, along with a remarkable group of teammates, has allowed Evan to achieve a harmonious work-life balance.

Spending precious moments with his wife and family holds the utmost importance for Evan when he steps away from the ice. He considers himself incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to share his journey abroad with his wife and the joy of hosting incredible visitors throughout the season. Beyond that, he dedicates himself to the professional hockey realm, where he embraces the role of stopping pucks and contributing to his team's pursuit of the Ligue Magnus Championship. And, with utmost dedication, he invests fulfilling hours into NetPotential and working with his clients to achieve balance, joy and success while tending the net.
THE FUTURE:
ALL ABOUT THE JOURNEY!
In the summer of 2023, Evan anticipates a significant professional milestone as he has been selected to compete in the 3ICE Professional Hockey League across the United States, featuring a thrilling 3-on-3 format.
In addition to his playing career, Evan's dedication to hockey extends to coaching as well. He has recently joined the USA National Team as a coach for the U15 age group, complementing his coaching experience gained during his time at the University of Denver and with esteemed organizations such as ITC (Arvada, CO), USJDP (CO), and MHH (Denver, CO). By sharing his knowledge and expertise with aspiring young players, Evan is actively contributing to the development of the sport and assisting the next generation of hockey talent.
Evan's journey encapsulates the qualities of resilience, personal growth, and an unwavering passion for both playing and coaching hockey. With an exciting future on the horizon, he continues to leave a lasting impact not only on the ice but also in shaping the future of the sport through his coaching and mentoring endeavors.
